Two questions that I get asked often are: Do I photograph older babies? and Do I shoot in colour as well as black & white? The answer to both is Yes! I love the newborn phase and because it goes by in a blink I always encourage people to do it as soon as possible but I’ll photograph babies of all ages and every stage has its own charms. As for colour v black & white, I think black & white creates a timeless look (plus it’s particularly fogiving to a baby’s skin tone) so I will process every photo that way but if a photo jumps out as being suited to colour I will do a colour version as well.
So, onto today’s sneak peek. Baby Eva gave me an excuse to answer both the questions above, she’s 14 weeks old so a little older which meant we could get plenty of smiling and eye contact as well as some shots of her getting some “tummy time”. Plus the beautiful golden light that we had on the day was just calling out for some colour:
